Female Pedestrian Killed in Co-Op City, Bronx Car Accident As She Was Sitting on Bench by Bartow Avenue
BRONX, NEW YORK (April 29, 2026) – A 72-year-old woman has tragically died in a Co-Op City, Bronx car accident near the intersection of Bartow Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue.
New York City officials are saying that the collision took place around 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday. A 55-year-old driver was having some type of medical episode when they lost control of their vehicle.
That driver went onto the sidewalk and crashed into two people who were on a bench. Paramedics were called to the scene of the accident to help the victims.
Sadly, a 72-year-old woman died due to her injuries. Another person was taken to the hospital to receive treatment.
