About Cydney Korek

Cyd’s passion for public service has provided her with great satisfaction in representing children and elders, as well as victims of sexual abuse and domestic violence.

Cyd joined Gersowitz Libo & Korek P.C. as an Associate after serving the people of the State of New York for three years as an Assistant District Attorney at the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office. At Gersowitz Libo & Korek P.C., Cyd focuses on medical malpractice cases and handles personal injury cases. She works on cases from investigation to trial.

While at Gersowitz Libo & Korek P.C., Cyd was honored to have been asked by Judge Anthony Cannataro, Associate Judge of the New York State Court of Appeals, New York State’s highest Court, to serve as one of the Judge’s law clerks. During Cyd’s clerkship, she honed her legal research and writing skills and gained valuable experience and insight into the important work of the Court. She worked on both civil and criminal appeals and attended the Court’s monthly sessions in New York State’s capital, Albany, NY.

Through Cyd’s work as a prosecutor, she gained insight into the neighborhoods and people of Brooklyn Heights, Carroll Gardens, Dumbo, Cobble Hill, Red Hook, Bedford Stuyvesant, East Flatbush, Dyker Heights, Bay Ridge and Fort Hamilton. Her caseload consisted of matters ranging from Domestic Violence to DWI’s to Drugs to Guns to Felony Assaults.

During her years at the District Attorney’s Office, Cyd was no stranger to the courtroom. She presented to the Grand Jury securing numerous indictments and worked daily with witnesses and law enforcement in presenting the People’s cases and often relied on forensic science in doing so. Post indictment, Cyd continued her courtroom work appearing at arraignments, evidentiary hearings, trials, and sentencing.

Cyd received her J.D. from Fordham University School of Law in 2017 following her graduation from The Pennsylvania State University in 2014, where she graduated with a B.A. in English and a concentration in Human Development and Family Studies.

In her spare time, Cyd and her husband, Andrew, enjoy chasing after their toddler and Weimaraner.
