Driver intoxication remains one of the leading causes of preventable car accidents in the United States. In 2023, 12,429 people were killed in alcohol-impaired crashes, a decrease of 7.6%, marking the second consecutive yearly improvement.” Even small amounts of alcohol can substantially impair a person’s ability to operate their vehicle safely.
