STATEN ISLAND, NEW YORK (September 19, 2022) – An off-duty EMT was critically injured in a New Dorp, Staten Island hit-and-run car accident along Locust Avenue.

New York City police officers are saying that the collision took place around 12:30 p.m. on Thursday. A man was getting out of his vehicle when he was struck by a vehicle driven by a woman.

That driver fled the scene of the collision but was later caught by police. The victim was taken to the hospital with a serious leg injury.

A full investigation into the New Dorp crash remains ongoing at this time.
