FDNY Investigating Cause of Massive Bronx Apartment Explosion That Left Five People Injured
BRONX, NEW YORK (August 5, 2026) – At least five people were injured in a Bronx apartment explosion in a five-story building on 374 E 209th Street.
New York City officials say the explosion occurred around 12:30 PM on Wednesday afternoon. Witnesses reported hearing a massive blast on the third floor of the apartment building.
Massive flames and smoke could be seen pouring from the window. Multiple fire trucks were called to the scene to address the fire and help victims.
