Liability For North Tonawanda Car Accidents
Thousands of people are killed or seriously injured every year in pedestrian collisions. According to the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety, “There were an estimated 737,100 hit-and-run crashes in 2015 (NHTSA, 2016). This translates to a hit-and-run crash happening somewhere in the U.S. every 43 seconds. The 2,049 fatalities that resulted from hit-and-run crashes in 2016 were the highest number ever recorded (NHTSA, 2017).” There are a number of factors that could contribute to a hit-and-run collision.
- Speeding
- Distracted driving
- Inclement weather
- Poor road conditions
The family of any person that is killed in a car accident may have legal recourse through a wrongful death claim. Damages in a civil claim can help cover lost wages, medical bills and pain and suffering. Sadly, though, drivers will do everything in their power to deny liability for any accident. A pedestrian accident attorney can examine all of the unique facts of your case and let you know what your legal options are.
