Teen Injured After Being Hit By Falling Concrete in Queens

Investigation Underway After Concrete From Building Facade Hit Teen in Head Along Queens Sidewalk

Two People Injured In Staten Island Garbage Truck Accident

QUEENS, NEW YORK (May 31, 2026) – A teenager was injured in Queens after a concrete chunk of the building façade fell on top of his head as he walked along the sidewalk.

New York City officials are saying that the accident took place around 12:15 p.m. on Saturday. The teen was walking when he was struck by the falling piece of concrete.

Eyewitnesses said that the fall caused a loud sound that resembled a car accident. Paramedics were called to the scene of the collision to help the victim.

He was transported to the hospital to receive treatment for a head injury. A full investigation into the cause of the accident remains ongoing.

Liability for Accidents Involving Dangerous Premises

Building owners in New York have a legal responsibility to maintain their properties in a reasonably safe condition. This must be done for the protection of everyone on a property whose presence is reasonably foreseeable. The company that built a home or residential structure could also be liable for an accident. It is important that certain steps are taken after any accident involving a building facade.

  • All of the maintenance records related to the property should be sought.
  • Medical records related to injuries should be collected.
  • Any person who may have witnessed the accident should be interviewed.
  • Victims should consult an experienced product liability attorney.

Accidents involving falling pieces that come from a building are often highly preventable. These incidents tend to involve building owners that were not performing adequate maintenance on their property. Among other things, building owners may not be performing routine inspections of their facade. Any person injured by a falling piece of concrete from a building may be able to pursue some measure of justice through a personal injury claim.
