Liability For Bronx Pedestrian Accidents
Thousands of pedestrians are killed or seriously injured every year in car accidents. According to the Centers for Disease Control, “More than 7,000 pedestrians were killed on our nation’s roads in crashes involving a motor vehicle in 2020. That’s about one death every 75 minutes.” Victims of pedestrian accidents tend to suffer very serious injuries including:
- Broken bones
- Head injuries
- Spinal cord injuries
The vast majority of pedestrian accidents are preventable and involve some amount of driver error. In particular, pedestrian accidents are much more likely to occur when drivers are speeding. They are also more likely to occur at night and during periods of inclement whether. If a driver fails to exercise due care and strikes a pedestrian, this could form the basis of a negligence claim.
