Liability For Crawford Car Accidents
Speed is one of the most common causes of car accidents in the United States. According to the NHTSA, “For more than two decades, speeding has been involved in approximately one-third of all motor vehicle fatalities. In 2020, speeding was a contributing factor in 29% of all traffic fatalities.” There are many steps that drivers should take in order to avoid collisions.
- Drivers should slow down at night and during times of inclement weather.
- Drivers should check their blind spots before making turns.
- Drivers should abstain from alcohol and other intoxicating substances.
It has been estimated that 93% of all car accidents involve some amount of human error. Accidents are much more likely to occur when drivers are not paying adequate attention to the road ahead of them. There is a rebuttable presumption of negligence on the part of any driver that leaves their own lane of traffic and hits another vehicle.
