Liability For New York City Car Accidents
Speeding remains one of the most common causes of car accidents in the United States. According to the NHTSA, “For more than two decades, speeding has been involved in approximately one-third of all motor vehicle fatalities. In 2020, speeding was a contributing factor in 29% of all traffic fatalities.” There are a number of other factors that could contribute to a car accident including:
- Drunk driving
- Distracted driving
- Poor road conditions
- Inclement weather
Any person that is injured due to the negligence of another driver may have legal recourse through a bodily injury claim. Damages in a civil claim can help cover lost wages, medical bills and pain and suffering. Sadly, though, drivers will often fight hard to deny liability for any collision. A pedestrian accident attorney can examine all of the unique facts of your case and let you know what your legal options are.
