95-Year-Old Woman Allegedly Beat Patient to Death at Seagate Rehab Nursing Home on West 29th Street in Coney Island
CONEY ISLAND, NEW YORK (September 17, 2025) – An elderly patient was allegedly beaten to death by a 95-year-old woman at the Seagate Rehab Nursing Home on West 29th Street in Coney Island.
New York City officials are saying that the incident took place around 10:04 PM on September 14. According to a preliminary investigation, a 95-year-old woman suffering from dementia was involved in some type of argument with an 89-year-old fellow resident at the facility.
At some point, the argument turned physical, and the 95-year-old woman picked up a metal object and hit the victim with it. Paramedics were called to the scene to help the victim.
She was taken to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn to receive treatment. A full investigation into the assault at Seagate Rehab Nursing Home on West 29th Street remains ongoing.
