Worker Injured After Falling Down Manhattan Amtrak Ventilation Shaft

MANHATTAN, NEW YORK (May 9, 2023) – A worker was injured after falling down a ventilation shaft owned by Amtrak in Midtown, according to the FDNY.

New York City police officials are saying that the accident took place around 6:45 a.m. on Monday. A worker fell down the shaft and became stuck.

Firefighters and paramedics were called to the scene of the accident in order to help the victim. He was rescued from the fifth floor of the ventilation shaft.

A full investigation remains ongoing at this time.
