Liability For New Rochelle Car Accidents
A large number of car accidents are caused by slick substances on the road. According to PubMed Central, “Motor vehicle crashes were the leading cause of death among persons aged 16 to 19 years during 1998–2001, both in the United States as a whole and specifically in the Northeastern states. Among factors affecting automobile deaths, road slickness has received only limited attention.” There are a number of steps that should be taken after any car accident.
- Eye witnesses should be interviewed.
- Medical records should be preserved.
- Surveillance footage should be sought.
- A thorough investigation should be conducted.
All drivers have a legal obligation to exercise due care and reduce the speed of their vehicle to avoid collisions. If a driver fails to reduce their speed and rear-ends another vehicle, this could form the basis of a negligence claim. Any person that is injured due to the negligence of another driver may have legal recourse through a bodily injury claim.
