Investigating Bay Shore Car Accidents
Thousands of people are killed or seriously injured every year in collisions with drunk drivers. According to the NHTSA, “Every day, about 32 people in the United States die in drunk-driving crashes — that’s one person every 45 minutes. In 2020, 11,654 people died in alcohol-impaired driving traffic deaths — a 14% increase from 2019.” There are many substances that could impair drivers besides alcohol.
- Prescription medications
- THC
- Sleep aides
- Benzodiazepines
All drivers must exercise due diligence in order to avoid accidents. A number of collisions involve drivers who make dangerous left turns. Drivers are supposed to yield the right of way to vehicles close enough to pose a hazard before making left turns. Any person who is injured in a car accident may have legal recourse through a civil claim.
