In order to receive a Tier 1 ranking, U.S. News – Best Lawyers “Best Law Firms” conducts a survey which entails gathering and compiling both client and attorney evaluations, peer reviews from some of the foremost attorneys in the firm’s field, and an evaluation of supplementary information that has been offered by the law firm itself as part of the formal submission process. Additionally, it bears mentioning that in order to be eligible for a ranking, the law firm seeking the ranking must have at least one attorney who has been included in Best Lawyers as part of the yearly peer review evaluation.
