Four Injured In Flatlands, Brooklyn MTA Bus Accident

New York Police Department Investigating Flatlands, Brooklyn MTA Bus Crash by Glenwood Road and Ralph Avenue That Injured Four People

Four Injured In Flatlands, Brooklyn MTA Bus Accident

BROOKLYN, NEW YORK (August 24, 2025) – A B47 MTA bus was involved in a car accident in Flatlands, Brooklyn that injured four people by Glenwood Road and Ralph Avenue.

New York City officials are saying that the collision took place around 3:22 a.m. on Sunday. The MTA bus and vehicle collided for undetermined reasons.

Paramedics were called to the scene of the collision to help the victims. A 33-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man were taken to Kings County Hospital with injuries.

An additional two people were also transported to local area hospitals. A full investigation into what led up to the Flatlands collision remains ongoing at this time.

Liability for New York City Bus Accidents

Far too many people are injured in New York City MTA bus accidents. According to one report from the New York Post, “At least 2,520 people — or 2.7 per day — were injured [from 2015 – 2018], according to the MTA. At least 14 people died, including a 25-year-old skateboarder, a 62-year-old pedestrian, a 60-year-old motorist and a 70-year-old with a walker who was mutilated by a hit-and-run bus.” Bus companies should take several measures to prevent accidents.

  • All bus drivers should be thoroughly trained to handle their vehicles.
  • Bus drivers should be given adequate time to rest and take breaks in between shifts.
  • Buses should be routinely inspected and well-maintained.

Buses are considered common carriers. They must operate with an abundance of caution to avoid colliding with other vehicles in the roadway. If a bus driver fails to slow down to avoid colliding with another car, this could form the basis of a negligence claim. Several steps should be taken after any bus accident.

  • Photos of the accident site should be taken.
  • Victims should seek a thorough medical evaluation.
  • Eyewitnesses should be interviewed.
  • Any person injured in an MTA bus accident should seek the guidance of an experienced New York bus accident attorney.

The vast majority of bus accidents are preventable. They tend to involve situations where one or more drivers are not following traffic regulations. Sadly, the MTA will virtually never admit fault if their driver causes an accident. This is why it is so important for victims to seek experienced legal counsel. An attorney can evaluate the unique facts of your case free of cost and let you know what your legal options are.
