Liability For New York City Car Accidents
Speed is one of the most common causes of car accidents in the United States. According to the NHTSA, “For more than two decades, speeding has been involved in approximately one-third of all motor vehicle fatalities. In 2020, speeding was a contributing factor in 29% of all traffic fatalities.” Victims of car accidents tend to suffer very serious injuries including:
- Broken bones
- Head injuries
- Lacerations
- Spinal cord injuries
When a driver fails to slow down in order to avoid a collision, this could form the basis of a negligence claim. Sadly, though, drivers will often do everything in their power to deny liability if they are involved in a collision. This is why it is so important that evidence is properly preserved. A personal injury attorney can examine the unique facts of your case and let you know what your legal options are.
