Investigation Underway After Woman Died in Crown Heights, Brooklyn Fire Along Bedford Avenue

BROOKLYN, NEW YORK (February 22, 2025) – A woman has tragically died in a Crown Heights, Brooklyn apartment fire along Bedford Avenue.

New York City officials are saying that the accident took place around 8:15 AM on Friday morning. The fire started on the third floor of the building.

Firefighters and paramedics were called to the scene in order to help all of the victims. Sadly, an 85-year-old woman was found unresponsive and later pronounced dead at the scene.

In all, it took 65 firefighters to eventually put out the blaze.
