Three Pedestrians Injured in Manhattan Car Accident on West 131st Street

Investigation Underway After Multiple Pedestrians Injured in Manhattan by West 131st Street and Amsterdam Avenue

MANHATTAN, NEW YORK (February 18, 2025)—Three pedestrians were injured in a Manhattan car accident near the intersection of W. 131st St. and Amsterdam Avenue.

New York City officials are saying that the collision took place around 2:50 PM on Tuesday. A driver reportedly had some type of medical episode before colliding with all of the victims.

The car also proceeded to hit scaffolding in the process. Firefighters and paramedics were called to the scene of the accident to help the victims.

Three people were transported to the hospital.

Liability for Manhattan Pedestrian Accidents

Thousands of pedestrians are killed or seriously injured in car accidents each year. According to the GHSA, “GHSA projects 7,318 people walking were killed by in motor vehicle crashes in 2023. This represents a 5.4% decrease from 2022 but is still 14.1% above 2019, the most recent pre-pandemic year.” Drivers should take several measures to avoid collisions.

  • Drivers should maintain a safe speed at all times.
  • Drivers should continuously scan the road ahead of them for hazards.
