Victim Pronounced Dead at Mt. Sinai Hospital After Collision in Marine Park

MARINE PARK, BROOKLYN (February 5, 2026) – A man has tragically died in Marine Park, Brooklyn after being hit by a vehicle near the intersection of Fillmore Avenue and East 38th Street.

New York City officials are saying the collision took place around 11:51 AM on Sunday. A man was crossing the intersection on a scooter and was struck by a Toyota.

Witnesses reported hearing a boom and rushed to the scene. Paramedics were called to help the victim.

The scooter rider was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition. Despite life-saving measures, he died at the hospital.

• Drivers should use their horn as necessary to warn pedestrians of their presence.
• Drivers should slow down in areas with a heavy pedestrian presence.
