Long Island Police Investigating Fatal Pedestrian Accident Along Sunrise Highway in Bay Shore

BAY SHORE, NEW YORK (February 13, 2026)—A pedestrian has tragically died in a car accident on the Sunrise Highway in Bay Shore.

Long Island police officials are saying that the accident took place around 5:20 AM on Friday. A pedestrian was attempting to cross the roadway when they were struck by a vehicle.

First responders were called to the scene of the accident to help the victim. Despite life-saving measures, the pedestrian died due to their injuries.

One man has since been arrested in connection with a deadly crash.
