Pedestrian Killed In Corona, Queens Hit-And-Run Collision

NYPD Searching for Hit-and-Run Driver Involved in Corona, Queens Crash on 102nd Street

QUEENS, NEW YORK (February 13, 2026) – A pedestrian has tragically died, and another person was seriously injured in a Corona, Queens hit-and-run car accident on 102nd Street.

New York City officials are saying that the accident took place around 4 AM on Friday. Two pedestrians were crossing the street when they were hit by an SUV.

Paramedics were called to the scene of the accident to help the victims. One man was transported to Elmhurst Hospital in critical condition.

The second victim did not survive and was pronounced dead. A full investigation into the crash remains ongoing.

Liability for Queens Car Accidents

Drivers have a legal obligation to use caution to avoid colliding with any pedestrian. Pursuant to New York Vehicle Code 1146, “every driver of a vehicle shall exercise due care to avoid colliding with any bicyclist, pedestrian, or domestic animal upon any roadway and shall give warning by sounding the horn when necessary.” Several steps should be taken after any pedestrian accident.

  • The police should be called to investigate.
  • Victims should receive a thorough medical evaluation.
  • The family of any person who died in the pedestrian accident should contact an experienced injury attorney.

When a driver fails to slow down to avoid colliding with any pedestrian, this could form the basis of a negligence claim. Even if a pedestrian was crossing outside of a marked crosswalk, this does not relieve a driver of their duty of care to avoid hitting pedestrians. The family of any person who died in a pedestrian accident is able to pursue some measure of justice or accountability for a wrongful death claim.

We at GLK Law extend our deepest condolences to the family of the pedestrian who died in this collision. It is our sincere hope that the other victim will be able to make a full recovery. There needs to be a thorough investigation into what happened.
