BRONX, NEW YORK (August 26, 2025) – One person has tragically died, and six other people were injured in a Co-op City, Bronx multi-vehicle collision on Bartow Avenue.
New York City officials are saying that the collision took place around 5:25 PM on Friday. A Toyota Avalon was involved in a collision with a Hyundai Sonata and an Acura RDX.
The force of the impact sent one of the vehicles into a light pole. Paramedics were called to the scene to help all of the victims.
Sadly, one person died due to their injuries, and six other people were taken to the hospital. No arrests were made immediately after the collision.
Far too many people are killed or seriously injured in car accidents every year. According to the Centers for Disease Control, “Motor vehicle crashes are a public health concern both in the United States and abroad. In the United States, motor vehicle crashes are a leading cause of death, and kill over 120 people every day. However, motor vehicle crash injuries and deaths are preventable.” Several factors could contribute to any collisions.
Drivers must use caution to avoid colliding with other vehicles in the roadway. They must continuously scan the road ahead of them for potential hazards. If a driver fails to slow down to avoid colliding with another vehicle, they could be held liable through a civil claim. It is important that certain actions be taken after any New York City car accident.
It can be hard to know what to do after being injured in any car accident. Victims may be heavily burdened with the medical cost of treating their injuries. They may also be left without income as they take time away from work to recover. This is why it is so important for victims to seek experienced legal guidance. Any person injured in a car accident may be able to pursue damages through a personal injury claim.
We at GLK Law extend our deepest condolences to the family of the victim killed in this Co-op City collision. It is our sincere hope that all of the other victims will be able to make a full recovery. Any person that may have more information about what happened should contact the NYPD.
