New York Police Department Searching For Dark-Colored SUV Involved In Manhattan Hit-And-Run Collision

MANHATTAN, NEW YORK (September 11, 2024) – A pedestrian has tragically died in a Manhattan hit-and-run collision along West 58th Street, according to the NYPD.

New York Police Department officials are saying that the collision took place around 3:00 a.m. on Tuesday. A pedestrian may have been sitting in the roadway when a driver hit them and kept going.

Paramedics were called to the scene of the collision in order to help the victim. They were taken to a local hospital with major injuries.

Despite life-saving measures, they were pronounced dead. The vehicle involved in the crash has been described as a dark-colored SUV.

Liability for Manhattan Hit-and-Run Car Accidents

According to the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety, “In 2016, there were 1,980 fatal hit-and-run crashes resulting in 2,049 fatalities.
