The Pedestrian Killed In Long Island Car Accident on Sunrise Highway

BMW Involved in Fatal Oakdale, Long Island Pedestrian Accident on Eastbound Sunrise Highway by Exit 48

LONG ISLAND, NEW YORK (February 11, 2025) – A 60-year-old male pedestrian has tragically died in an Oakdale, Long Island car accident on the eastbound Sunrise Highway.

Long Island police officials are saying that the accident took place around 9:30 PM on Friday night. A pedestrian was crossing in the roadway when they were hit by a BMW 550.

Paramedics were called to the scene in order to help the victim. Despite life-saving measures, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities are asking anyone that may have witnessed the collision to reach out to them. A full investigation remains ongoing at this time.
