Four Workers Fell Through “Sub Cellar Level” of 28-Story Building on 8th Avenue in Brooklyn
BROOKLYN, NEW YORK (October 28, 2025) – Four workers were injured in a Brooklyn construction accident after falling through a collapsed floor at a newly constructed building on 8th Avenue.
New York City officials are saying that the accident took place on Tuesday morning. Four workers fell through the floor of a building while pouring concrete.
Paramedics were called to the scene of the collision to help the victims. The construction workers were responsible and taken to the hospital to receive treatment.
A full investigation into the accident remains ongoing.
Falls remain a leading cause of serious injury and death for construction workers in the United States. According to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, there were “5,190 fatal work injuries in the U.S. in 2021. Of those deaths, nearly 20% occurred in construction, second only to transportation and materials handling. Fortunately, the “Fatal Four” leading causes of construction deaths – falls, stuck-by, electrocutions, and caught-in or -between — are preventable by using these tips.” Construction companies should take several measures to prevent falls.
Construction companies and general contractors can be held liable for construction accidents under New York’s scaffold law. The scaffold law covers accidents where workers fall or are hit by falling objects. Workers must be provided with fall protection. OSHA regulations must be strictly adhered to. Victims of construction accidents tend to suffer very serious injuries.
The vast majority of construction accidents are totally preventable. They tend to be the result of serious safety violations. It is possible that there could be numerous sources of liability for any accident. Any person injured in a construction accident may be able to pursue some measure of justice through a personal injury claim. A personal injury attorney can examine all of the unique facts of your case and let you know what your legal options are.
We at GLK Law extend our best wishes to the victims of this Brooklyn construction accident. It is our sincere hope that they will be able to make a full recovery. Any person who may have more information about what happened should reach out to OSHA.
