Taxi Plows Into Two Pedestrians Outside Manhattan Bodega on Rivington Street by Essex Street
MANHATTAN, NEW YORK (March 15, 2026) – Two women were injured in a Manhattan taxi accident near the intersection of Rivington Street and Essex Street.
New York City officials were saying that the accident took place around 2:41 PM outside of a Manhattan bodega. A taxi left the roadway and struck the two victims.
Paramedics were called to the scene of the crash to help the victims. A full investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
Drivers have a legal obligation to use caution to avoid causing an accident. According to New York Vehicle Code 1146, “Notwithstanding the
provisions of any other law to the contrary, every driver of a vehicle
shall exercise due care to avoid colliding with any bicyclist,
pedestrian, or domestic animal upon any roadway and shall give warning
by sounding the horn when necessary.” Several steps should be taken after any pedestrian accident.
It can be difficult to know where to begin after any pedestrian accident. Victims are often left with serious and lasting injuries. To make matters worse, drivers and their insurance providers will almost never accept responsibility after any crash. This is why it is so important that accident victims contact an experienced attorney. An attorney can take steps to preserve evidence and protect your rights.
We at GLK Law extend our best wishes to all of the people injured in this Manhattan taxi accident. It is our sincere hope that the victims will be able to make a full recovery. There needs to be a thorough investigation into what went wrong.
