The plaintiffs have filed suit against H. Wayne Klekamp, Inc., doing business as Adventure Bound Camping Resorts, for wrongful death caused by the defendants’ negligence in maintaining the campground. Three-year-old Ellys Martinez was inside a tent at the Yogi Bear Park Campground at Tall Pines in Elmer at 2 p.m. on July 6, 2019, when a falling tree branch struck her. The little girl was taken to Inspira Medical Center where she was pronounced dead. The toddler was fatally struck by a tree branch as a result of the campground owner’s failure to properly maintain the premises. The wrongful death of Ellys Martinez resulted in the emotional distress of her parents, Jose Martinez and Bianka Ramirez.
