Investigation Underway After Bronx Car Accident Involving Four Cars Left Five People Injured
BRONX, NEW YORK (March 7, 2026)—At least five people were injured in a car accident on the Bronx River Parkway that involved an NYPD vehicle.
New York City officials are saying the collision took place around 8:00 AM on Monday. At least four vehicles were involved in a collision for undetermined reasons.
Firefighters and paramedics were called to the scene of the accident to help all of the victims. A total of five people were injured in the collision and taken to the hospital.
The circumstances leading up to the crash remain under investigation.
Speeding remains one of the leading causes of car accidents across New York and the United States. According to the National Safety Council, “Speeding was a factor in 29% of all traffic fatalities in 2023, killing 11,775, or an average of over 32 people on a typical day. The total number of fatal motor-vehicle crashes attributable to speeding was 10,541.” Victims of car accidents tend to suffer very serious injuries.
When drivers fail to slow down to avoid hitting other vehicles, this could be construed as negligence. Depending on the facts of any case, liability for a car accident could extend beyond any specific driver. There could be multiple liable parties. This includes the NYPD or other agencies that were operating commercial vehicles. Any person injured in a car accident may be able to seek some measure of accountability through a civil claim.
We at GLK Law extend our best wishes to all of the people injured in this collision on the Bronx River Parkway. Any person who may have more information about what happened should reach out to investigators. It is our sincere hope that all of the victims will be able to make a full recovery.
