Owner Arrested After Woman Died Following Injection and Medical Emergency at Bereshit Lifestyle Center on Riverdale Avenue
KINGSBRIDGE, BRONX (July 25, 2025) – A woman has tragically died after receiving some type of injection while at a wellness center in Kingsbridge.
New York City officials are saying that the incident took place at the Bereshit Lifestyle Center on Riverdale Avenue. A 27-year-old woman was receiving some type of injection when she began to experience a medical emergency.
That woman became unconscious and was transported to the New York-Presbyterian Hospital to receive treatment. Unfortunately, she was later pronounced deceased at the hospital.
The center’s owner has since been arrested following the incident and charged with reckless endangerment. A full investigation remains ongoing at this time.
Many people are harmed by medical malpractice each year. According to one study in Stat Pearls, “Even with substantial tort reform surrounding the topic of medical practice, the AMA states that 1 in 3 clinicians are sued at least once throughout their career, with some surgical specialties having an even greater chance of being sued.” There are many steps that healthcare providers should take to prevent harm.
When a healthcare provider offers care that deviates substantially from accepted standards of care, this could serve as evidence of negligence. Any person who is harmed by medical malpractice is able to seek some measure of accountability through a civil claim. This right extends to the surviving family members of any person who died. They are able to seek some measure of accountability through a wrongful death claim.
We at GLK Law extend our deepest condolences to the family of the woman who died in this accident. Any person who may have more information about what happened should reach out to the police. There needs to be a thorough investigation into what happened.
