Investigation Underway After 8 People Injured in Carbon Monoxide Poisoning Accident in Medina Apartment

MEDINA, NEW YORK (December 19, 2024) – At least 8 people were injured at a Medina apartment building after some type of carbon monoxide poisoning.

Orleans County officials are saying that the incident took place around 6:30 a.m. on Sunday. Firefighters were called to the apartment.

They encountered a teen who was conscious but had symptoms consistent with carbon monoxide poisoning. Seven other people were taken to the hospital.

A full investigation into the cause of the poisoning remains ongoing at this time.
