Investigation Underway After Woman Hit By Falling Tree in Mount Hope on Memorial Day
MOUNT HOPE, BRONX (May 31, 2026) – A woman was injured after being hit by a falling tree in Mount Hope by East 176th Street and Clay Avenue.
US city officials are saying that the accident took place around 1:30 PM on Memorial Day. The accident took place after several days of rain in the city.
Paramedics replied to the scene of the crash to help the injured woman. She sustained a head injury as well as multiple fractures on her arm and right leg.
A full investigation into the circumstances leading up to the incident remains ongoing.

According to The Weather Channel, “Multiple people are killed each year due to falling trees during storms or other weather, but there is no good record of the exact number.” There are several reasons that a tree could fall over.
