Speeding is one of the most common causes of car accidents. According to the National Safety Council, “Speeding was a factor in 29% of all traffic fatalities in 2021, killing 12,330, or an average of over 33 people per day. The total number of fatal motor-vehicle crashes attributable to speeding was 11,057.” It is important that certain steps be taken after any collision.
Depending on the facts of any case, the city or government agency responsible for a road could be liable for a collision. This may be the case if a dangerous condition on a roadway contributed to a crash. It is important for accident victims to understand that they do have rights. Any person who is injured in a car accident may have legal recourse through a civil claim.
We at Gersowitz Libo & Korek, P.C. extend our best wishes to the two people injured in this collision. There needs to be a thorough investigation into what happened. It is our sincere hope that steps are taken to make this stretch of road safe.
