16-Year-Old Girl Killed, 8-Year-Old Injured In Sunnyside, Queens Truck Accident By The Intersection of 47th Avenue and 46th Street

QUEENS, NEW YORK (June 30, 2024) – A teenage girl has died and an 8-year-old was injured after they were hit by a truck in Sunnyside, Queens, by 47th Avenue and 46th Street.

New York City police officials are saying that the incident took place around 3:37 p.m. on June 26th. Two girls were crossing the street when they were hit by the truck.

Firefighters and paramedics were called to the scene in order to help the victims. Tragically, a 16-year-old girl died due to her injuries.

An 8-year-old girl sustained major injuries to her head and legs. She was taken to the hospital with critical injuries.

The driver of the truck has since been taken into custody. A full investigation remains ongoing at this time.
