Pedestrian Injured In Collision on Buffalo Niagara International Airport Circulatory Road
BUFFALO, NEW YORK (April 30, 2024) – A pedestrian was injured in a car accident on the Buffalo Niagara International Airport Circulatory Road.
Buffalo police officials are saying that the collision took place at 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday. A pedestrian was walking away from the airport when they were hit by a vehicle.
Paramedics were called to the scene in order to help the victim. They were taken to the hospital in order to receive care.
Police are still looking for a “dark-colored SUV” they believe was involved in the crash.
Thousands of pedestrians are killed or seriously injured every year in car accidents. According to the Centers for Disease Control, “More than 7,000 pedestrians were killed on our nation’s roads in crashes involving a motor vehicle in 2020. That’s about one death every 75 minutes.” There are a number of factors that could contribute to a pedestrian collision.
All drivers have a legal obligation to exercise due care in order to avoid hitting pedestrians. This includes checking blind spots before making turns on the road. It also includes slowing down when there are pedestrians nearby. If a driver fails to slow down in order to avoid hitting a pedestrian, this could form the basis of a negligence claim.
We at Gersowitz Libo & Korek, P.C. extend our best wishes to the pedestrian injured in this collision. The driver responsible for the crash should do the right thing and come forward. It is never too late to do the right thing.
