Investigation Underway After Bronx Collision Left One Person Dead and Multiple Injured Near Bruckner Boulevard and Whittier Street
BRONX, NEW YORK (December 21, 2025) – One person died and several people were injured in a Bronx car accident near the intersection of Bruckner Boulevard and Whittier Street.
New York City officials are saying that the collision took place around 4:39 AM on Friday. A 29-year-old woman with two passengers was involved in a collision with two box trucks.
Firefighters and paramedics were called to the scene of the collision to help all of the victims. Sadly, one person died due to their injuries.
Multiple other people were taken to the hospital to receive treatment. A full investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
Car accidents remain a leading cause of preventable injury and death in the United States. According to the National Safety Council, “2023 marks the second consecutive decrease in deaths. Deaths decreased 3% in 2023, following a 2% decrease in 2022. From 2019 to 2021, deaths increased by 20%. In 2023, 44,762 people died in motor-vehicle crashes compared to 46,027 in 2022 and 46,980 in 2021.” Many different factors could contribute to a car accident.
All drivers have a legal obligation to exercise due care to avoid colliding with other vehicles in the roadway. They must continuously scan the road ahead of them and slow down when necessary. If a driver fails to slow down to avoid hitting another vehicle, this may be construed as negligence.
