Police Searching for Truck Driver Involved in Deadly Hit-and-Run Collision That Killed a Pedestrian at East 138th St. and Bruckner Boulevard in Mott Haven

MOTT HAVEN, BRONX (May 15, 2026) – A pedestrian has tragically died in a Mott Haven hit-and-run semi-truck accident by the intersection of East 138th St. and Bruckner Boulevard.

New York City officials are saying that the accident took place around 8:30 PM on Saturday. A 40-year-old man was crossing the street when he was hit by a tractor-trailer.

He was subsequently hit by a taxi. The driver of the taxi stopped at the scene of the collision.

However, the truck driver left the scene. Paramedics were called to the accident to help the victim. Sadly, the injured man later died due to his injuries.
