Long Island Police Investigating Fatal Hicksville Garbage Truck Collision on South Oyster Bay Road

HICKSVILLE, NEW YORK (September 18, 2026) – A 66-year-old man has tragically died in a Hicksville garbage truck accident along South Oyster Bay Road.

Long Island officials are saying that the incident occurred on Labor Day. Authorities said that the victim was working on the truck at an automotive services business when it rolled over him.

Paramedics were called to the scene of the accident to help the injured victim. Sadly, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
