New Water Treatment System Set To Be Installed At Albany Nursing Home Where Four People Died From Outbreak of Legionella

ALBANY, NEW YORK (September 17, 2024) – Four people have tragically died following an outbreak of Legionella at Peregrine Senior Living at Shaker facility.

County officials are saying that 20 people have been hospitalized after the discovery of Legionella bacteria at the facility. The bacteria are spread through the air when an individual breathes mist that contains the bacteria.

A new water treatment system was installed at the Peregrine Senior Living at Shaker facility. A full investigation into the incident remains ongoing at this time.
