CLIFTON, NEW YORK (April 16, 2026) – A worker has tragically died in a Clifton bucket truck accident on property along 294 Main Avenue.
Clifton police officials are saying that the accident took place where a school is being built. The worker was next to a boom lift being removed from a bucket truck.
The boom lift topped over and struck the victim. Paramedics were called to the scene of the accident to help him.
Despite life-saving measures, he later died due to the severity of his injuries. A full investigation into the accident remains ongoing at this time.
A large number of workers are seriously injured or killed every year in preventable accidents. According to the Centers for Disease Control, “Occupational struck-by incidents caused 150 deaths and 14,000 nonfatal construction sector injuries in 2020. This totaled $1.4 billion in workers compensation direct costs for non-fatal claims with more than 5 days away from work.” Employers should take several actions to prevent accidents.
Depending on the specific facts of any case, a worker’s employer could potentially be liable for an accident where workers are injured or killed. This may be the case if a worksite was not being maintained in a reasonably safe condition. This could include situations where OSHA regulations were not being followed. The family of any worker who died in an accident may be able to pursue some measure of accountability through a wrongful death claim.
We at GLK Law extend our deepest condolences to the family of the worker who died in this Clifton bucket truck accident. Any person who may have more information about what happened should reach out to the authorities. There needs to be a thorough investigation into what went wrong so similar accidents can be prevented.
