Grandmother Injured After Falling Down Elevator Shaft At Apartment Building In Jersey City
JERSEY CITY, NEW JERSEY (March 27, 2024) – A woman in her 70s was injured after she fell down an elevator shaft at a Jersey City apartment.
Jersey City police officials are saying that the incident took place late Tuesday. The woman fell through an elevator shaft that was open and missing an elevator.
This all happened as her granddaughter looked on in horror. Firefighters and paramedics were called to the scene in order to help the victim.
She was taken to the hospital in order to receive treatment. Other residents said that the building is plagued by many problems, including mold, leaks, and flies.
A full investigation remains ongoing at this time.
