Investigation Underway After Woman Died in Four-Vehicle Car Accident Along Route 112 and County Road 83 in Coram
CORAM, LONG ISLAND (January 25, 2026) – A woman has tragically died in a Coram car accident involving multiple vehicles on Route 112.
Long Island officials are saying that the collision took place around 6 PM on Saturday. The woman was traveling down the road when a Jeep Wrangler crashed into a vehicle.
The force of the impact sent the victim’s vehicle into two other cars. Paramedics were called to the scene of the accident to help the injured woman.
Sadly, she later died due to her injuries at the hospital.
Drivers must use caution to avoid colliding with other vehicles in the roadway. This necessitates that they maintain a safe following distance with all the cars ahead of them. According to NY Veh & Traf L § 1129, “The driver of a motor vehicle shall not follow another vehicle more closely than is reasonable and prudent, having due regard for the speed of such vehicles and the traffic upon and the condition of the highway.” Several factors could contribute to a motor vehicle collision.
If a driver fails to operate their vehicle with the care necessary to avoid colliding with other vehicles, they could be held at fault for the collision. Depending on the facts of any case, liability for a collision could extend beyond any driver deemed to be at fault. In particular, the company that owned a vehicle could be liable for an accident if the vehicle was being used for business purposes.
We at GLK Law extend our best wishes to the person injured in this Coram car accident. Any person who may have more information about what happened should reach out to investigators. There needs to be a thorough investigation into what went wrong.
