Early Morning Crash In Syracuse Leaves Two People Injured
SYRACUSE, NEW YORK (January 20, 2023) – At least two people were injured in a Syracuse car accident along the Eastbound lanes of Interstate 690.
Syracuse police officials are saying that the incident took place around 6:32 a.m. on January 17. A Jeep was in the process of pulling over by the side of the road when they were involved in a collision with a 2011 Mitsubishi.
The Mitsubishi caught fire after the initial collision. Both drivers were transported to the hospital in order to receive treatment.
Speed is one of the most common causes of car accidents in the United States. According to the NHTSA, “For more than two decades, speeding has been involved in approximately one-third of all motor vehicle fatalities. In 2020, speeding was a contributing factor in 29% of all traffic fatalities.” There are many steps that drivers should take in order to avoid collisions.
The factors that may contribute to a car accident may take place hours, days, weeks or months prior to a fatal collision. Accidents are much more likely to take place at intersections, especially as drivers are making left turns. Any person that is injured in a Syracuse car accident may have legal recourse through a civil claim. A personal injury attorney can examine the unique facts of your case and let you know what your legal options are.
