His passenger suffered injuries in the collision as well. Both victims were transported to the hospital to receive treatment.
A full investigation into the North Amityville collision remains ongoing.
Speeding remains one of the leading causes of preventable car accidents. According to the National Safety Council, “Speeding was a factor in 29% of all traffic fatalities in 2023, killing 11,775, or an average of over 32 people on a typical day. The total number of fatal motor-vehicle crashes attributable to speeding was 10,541.” There are many ways that speeding could contribute to a car accident.
Every driver has a legal obligation to exercise due care to avoid colliding with other vehicles in the roadway. There is a presumption of negligence on the part of any driver that leaves their lane of traffic and collides with another vehicle. Any person injured in a car accident may be able to seek some measure of accountability through a personal injury claim.
We at GLK Law extend our best wishes to all of the people injured in this North Amityville car accident. It is our sincere hope that they will be able to make a full recovery. Any person that may have more information should reach out to the police.
