Two Men Arrested in Suspected Bed-Stuy DUI Collision That Left Three People Injured on Fulton Street
BED-STUY, BROOKLYN (July 13, 2026) – At least three people were injured in a Bed-Stuy car accident after a vehicle went into a building along Fulton Street.
New York City officials are saying that the accident occurred around 11:10 PM along Fulton Street. A black Cadillac and a BMW were involved in a collision.
The force of the impact sent the BMW into a commercial building before it struck a 28-year-old pedestrian. Paramedics were called to the scene of the crash to help all of the victims.
In total, both drivers were injured along with the pedestrian that was struck. It appears that both drivers have been charged following the collision.
One driver was charged with vehicular assault and reckless endangerment. The other driver was charged with reckless driving and driving while intoxicated.
A full investigation remains ongoing.
Driver intoxication remains a leading cause of preventable injury and death. According to the NHTSA, “About 30% of all traffic crash fatalities in the United States involve drunk drivers (with BACs of .08 g/dL or higher). In 2024, there were 11,904 people killed in these preventable crashes. In fact, on average over the 10-year period from 2015-2024, over 11,500 people died every year in drunk-driving crashes.” Victims of DUI collisions tend to suffer very serious injuries.
It is illegal for any person to operate a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Drivers that operate their vehicle while intoxicated or in a reckless manner can face criminal as well as civil liability for their actions. Victims of DUI collisions are protected by a number of laws. They are able to seek some measure of accountability through a civil claim. A personal injury attorney can examine the unique facts of your case and let you know what your legal options are.
We at GLK Law extend our best wishes to all of the people injured in this collision. It is our hope that they will make a full recovery. This was a highly preventable crash that should not have taken place. Any person with more information should reach out to the NYPD.
