Pedestrians are uniquely vulnerable in collisions. They lack the protection of enclosed vehicles and are more likely to be overlooked. According to National Public Radio, “Pedestrian deaths have been climbing since 2010 because of unsafe infrastructure and the prevalence of SUVs, which tend to be more deadly for pedestrians than smaller cars, according to Martin.” Cities should take a number of actions in order to prevent pedestrian accidents.
Depending on the facts of any case, there could be numerous sources of liability for a collision. This could include the person driving a vehicle. If a driver fails to slow down in order to avoid colliding with a car, this could form the basis of a civil claim. There could be several other sources of liability for a car accident.
