Six Injured in Woodhaven, Queens Fire

E-Bike Battery Suspected as Ignition Source of Woodhaven Fire That Injured Six People

WOODHAVEN, QUEENS (August 14, 2026) – At least six people were injured in a Woodhaven, Queens residential fire at a home on 91st St. by 89th Ave.

NYC officials are saying that the incident occurred around 2:30 AM on Wednesday morning. Firefighters were called to the home after getting reports of a major fire.

It took first responders roughly an hour to extinguish the flames. Three people were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

An additional three people were treated at the scene. Investigators suspect that an e-bike battery may have triggered the blaze. Full investigation remains ongoing at this time.
