Investigation Underway After Pedestrian Died in Crash on the Westbound Lanes of State Route 104 in Webster
WEBSTER, NEW YORK (January 10, 2025) – A pedestrian has tragically died in a Webster car accident on State Route 104.
New York State police are saying that the accident took place around 6:01 AM between Hard Road and Five Mile Line Road. The pedestrian was hit for uncertain reasons and knocked to the ground.
Paramedics were called to the scene of the accident to help the victim. Despite life-saving measures, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities do not believe that driver intoxication played a role in the crash. A full investigation into the Webster pedestrian accident remains ongoing.
Drivers must use caution to avoid collisions with pedestrians. To that end, they must operate their vehicle at a safe speed at all times. According to New York Vehicle Code 1180, “No person shall drive a vehicle at a speed greater than is reasonable and prudent under the conditions and having regard to the actual and potential hazards then existing.” Several actions should be taken after any pedestrian accident.
