New York City Investigating East New York, Brooklyn Car Accident By Ashford Street and Linden Boulevard
BROOKLYN, NEW YORK (April 30, 2024) – A pedestrian has tragically died in an East New York, Brooklyn car accident between Ashford Street and Linden Boulevard.
New York City police officials are saying that the collision took place around 1:30 p.m. on Monday. A driver was traveling eastbound on Linden Boulevard when they struck a pedestrian.
Paramedics were called to the scene in order to help the victim. Sadly, they later died due to their injuries.
Thousands of pedestrians are killed or seriously injured in collisions every year. According to the Centers for Disease Control, “Nearly 8,000 pedestrians were killed on our nation’s roads in crashes involving a motor vehicle in 2021. That’s about one death every 66 minutes. One in six people who died in crashes in 2021 were pedestrians.” There are a number of measures that cities can take in order to prevent pedestrian accidents.
