Suffolk County Police Investigating Major Pedestrian Accident Along Town Line Road
SUFFOLK COUNTY, NEW YORK (June 22, 2026) – A pedestrian was critically injured in a Suffolk County car accident along Town Line Road.
Suffolk County officials are saying that the accident occurred around 7:36 p.m. on Thursday. The driver of a Honda Accord pulled over to the side of the road and walked around his vehicle.
Paramedics were called to the scene of the collision to help the victim. He was transported to South Shore University Hospital to receive treatment.
A full investigation into the accident remains ongoing at this time.
Pedestrians have a smaller profile than passenger vehicles and are more likely to be seriously injured in the event of a crash. According to the National Safety Council, “most pedestrian traffic deaths occurred in urban settings (83%), on the open road (75%) versus intersections (25%), and during dark conditions with or without artificial lighting (74%).
